Two collections form the backbone of MARTa Herford: the Bielefeld collector Karl Kerber is giving his collection of 180 paintings from the 1970s, 80s and 90s to the museum on permanent loan; Jan Hoet will build up a collection of contemporary art with funds from the E.ON Ruhrgas company.
